Kinesiology November 2006
National Kinesiology Awareness Week

People keen to develop the feel-good factor were able to discover a new pathway to health in National Kinesiology Awareness Week.

Special events, running all over the country, from June 10th to June 18th 2006, explained the benefits of kinesiology, a natural health care system combining diagnostic muscle testing and energy balancing techniques with traditional concepts of Chinese medicine.

Kinesiology is fast gaining recognition for successful identification and treatment of a whole raft of health issues, ranging from allergies, fatigue and digestive disorders, to stress, depression, arthritis and back problems. It is a truly holistic, painless process, working with the mind and body to create optimum health and wellbeing.

Despite successful treatment rates Kinesiology Federation Administrator Joyce Couper says there is a need to reach a wider audience for what remains a relatively little known therapy.

'Kinesiologists can play a vital role in solving health problems that are notoriously difficult to treat.  People may come to us as a last port of call, having tried orthodox medicine and other complementary therapies. We can get to the root of their problem and thereby use the correct method of treatment.'

The School of Creative Kinesiology

The School of Creative Kinesiology is based in Devon, UK. It was founded in the early 1990s when Carrie Jost began to teach the material – after working for two years with Haakon Lovell who originated the approach, method and the first manual. In the mid 1990s she was joined by Natalie Davenport who was developing her Applied Kinesiology material into a form which was creative in its focus.

The School incorporates two professional level training courses:

Creative Kinesiology – Way of the Tracker

focuses on emotional and psychological aspects of the work and includes work with subtle energies, the spirit and purposefulness in life. The course addresses all aspects of the healing approach, and so is holistic, with recognition of the fact that it is only by integrating healing in the body itself that lasting change can be achieved.

Creative Kinesiology – Perceptual Bodywork

focuses on the body and bodily systems, the electromagnetic aspects of energy and encourages use of the senses and sensing to work creatively in all systems of the body, mind, emotions and spirit. All aspects of the person are included in this work, with the recognition that, by witnessing the whole person, deep and lasting change can be achieved.

The two courses are ideal companion training courses – though each is a complete training in itself. Each course gives a certificate in professional kinesiology; once both are completed a Diploma in Creative Kinesiology is awarded.

The School of Creative Kinesiology also promotes and runs a growing number of courses in Continuing Professional Development – as well as updates for practitioners.
