Understanding how colour affects our moods and emotions is not new: many
ancient civilisations understood how colour and light affected our entire
well-being. Today, most of us have become aware of the effects of colour
and light; soft blues are restful, vibrant red sunsets can leave you awe-struck
and bright yellows can uplift your spirits on a dull day.
The AURA-SOMA® system brings together these ‘colour energies’
at a deeper level. Our preferences for different colours are all related
to the energies we receive from them, and by considering the colours we
choose, we can reach a greater understanding of who we are.
The Aura-Soma system was originally developed in 1983, by Vicky Wall.
A qualified pharmaceutical scientist, she learned of the importance of
nature, plants and healing from a young age. This, coupled with her exceptional
intuition, guided her on her journey towards the conception of the Aura-Soma
colours.
One night, Vicky gathered an abundance of various natural ingredients
together in her lab. She later reported that her ‘hands were guided’
as she began her alchemical work. She continued and by the following morning
had produced a number of beautifully coloured bottles, each containing
50% coloured oil and 50% coloured water, combined with the essential oils,
and crystal and plant extracts.
Quite rapidly, Vicky began presenting her ‘jewels’ at exhibitions.
Many people reported that the contents of the little bottles seemed to
have extraordinary even miraculous healing effects: patients with migraine
and back pain reported a lessening of pain for example. Vicky continued
the production of these bottles and over time became more aware of their
usage and of some of the benefits described above. She continued, teaching
others about her findings and proliferating the message, all the time
birthing new bottles and discovering more and more about each.
The best way of taking our interest in the Aura-Soma system further is
to have a consultation. In a consultation, over 100 of these dual-coloured
bottles are displayed on a cabinet; their jewel like colours shimmering
and vibrating before our eyes. The trained Practitioner asks us to choose
the 4 bottles which naturally most call to us – which bottles would
we choose to take to a deserted island? We then learn more about how these
colours can reflect who we are; this is why we say ‘You are the colours
you choose’.
Since Vicky’s passing in 1991, her successor, Mike Booth, has continued
proliferating the message of colour. Today, Aura-Soma is represented in
most European countries and as far as New Zealand, Japan, Brazil, Russia
and many other countries. There are tens of thousands of regular users
worldwide, as well as several thousand trained practitioners: a truly
magnificent achievement.
