Cancer Specialist Attacks Complementary Treatments
A cancer specialist has launched an attack on the alternative medicines industry for their ‘vile and cynical exploitation’ of patients. Professor Jonathan Waxman of Imperial College London, UK, writes in a recent issue of the British Medical Journal that up to 80 per cent of cancer patients use complementary treatments which may ‘delay the institution of conventional therapy’ he warns.
