Lines are Drawn

I can't help thinking that lines are being drawn for an all out conflict between traditional and contemporary medicine, with accusations of unscientific, inaccurate practice on the one hand, and mismanagement and self-interest on the other.

The fact is we all need to work together to improve the health care of our community, our nation and our world, not least the natural world and the other living organisms on Earth which all have a part to play in the balance of life.

Some of the news we publish in this issue is frankly, shocking, and suggests a world in which professionals seek to discredit others simply through self interest, and where, for the pursuit of money, there are those prepared to rape and pillage the natural world. We hope you will not be saddened by these reports and that they will serve merely to make us redouble our efforts to bring healing and light into the dark corners which are clearly never that far away.

Please let us know what you think, and what you are doing out there to offset all this negativity. Maybe the next issue of altmedzine might make happier reading!

On a more positive note, we have two new subject headings this issue: Reiki and Aromatherapy. In our Reiki column we have an interview which I conducted at camexpo (more about which next week) with the
Reiki Grand Master Sensei Tadao Yamaguchi, and also an interesting article on chi by David O'Brien.
