Welcome to the AltMedZine ('AMZ')

Dear readers, welcome to
the very first, fledgeling, pre-launch issue of AltMedZine ('AMZ'), the new, fortnightly email magazine ('Ezine') which will bring you, direct to your email inbox, news and views, new products and services, technical articles, information on better practice, event and training information, to help you, as a practitioner in the fields of Alternative Medicine and Complementary Therapies ('CAM').

I am an Acupuncturist but, like most of you, I'm sure, I have an interest in all complementary therapies and can see a time when other healing techniques will call me to learn more about them, if not even add them to my skillset.

These are very exciting times for us all: The disciplines we practise are serious and committed to the greater good and support of humanity, and accepted throughout the world, but at the same time subject to suspicion and ridicule by the 'conventional', 'western' medical establishment.

The recent Times Letter, designed to scupper Prince Charles speech to the WHO, is both depressing and uplifting at the same time: at least it means that we are very firmly on the public health agenda, which is a lot better than being completely ignored!

So, I am very optimistic about our 'trade' and I am equally upbeat about the launch of this new source of information for my fellow practitioners. We hope it will prove to be a must-look fortnightly resource.

Finally, I look forward to hearing your feedback on the AltMedZine. Please email me with your suggestions and advice
